Comments = What an honor it was to help take care of Eugenia. We had
wonderful conversations about the harvest fields and cooking. She was
able to help educate me on our families. I left her visits with a smile on
my face.

Eugenia Weis Heinrich of Okeene, Oklahoma passed away peacefully Saturday,
September 1, 2007.  She was born on December 14, 1915 as the only child of
Theophilus and Lydia Brickman Weis.  During Eugenia’s childhood, she and her
parents lived on various farms in the Loyal, Hitchcock, and Okeene areas where
she attended a number of different schools, eventually graduating from Hitchcock
high in 1934.  She attended Southwestern Junior College in Keene, Texas, one
year.

On December 10, 1938 she married Ellsworth Heinrich of Okeene, Oklahoma.
During their married life, they lived on farms southeast of Okeene, Oklahoma,
where they raised their four children.  After her husband’s death in 1975, Eugenia
moved from the farm to a home in Okeene which she retained until her death.

Throughout her life, Eugenia was an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist
church, assisting wherever she was needed.  She served as Dorcas leader (a
community outreach program), head deaconess, and Sabbath School teacher,
among other offices.  She especially enjoyed preparing clothing and household
items for local needy families or for the church’s worldwide disaster relief
program.  She donated her time volunteering at the Schalmo Nursing center in
Okeene as well.

Eugenia enjoyed supporting worthy projects with not only her time, but with her
means.  Both she and her husband were members of the Committee of 100 of
Southwestern Union College in Keene, Texas.  She gave generously to local
projects such as the Okeene Municipal Hospital building programs.

Education was very important to Eugenia.   It was due to her encouragement that
all but one of her children completed a college education.  She also encouraged
her grandchildren in their schooling endeavors.

Gardening was a special source of joy for Eugenia.  Many happy hours of time
were spent in both her flower and vegetable gardens.  Gardening will no doubt be
a special delight for her throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity.      Cooking
was another one of her favorite pastimes. She loved trying new things and often
entered foods in local cooking and baking contests, winning many prizes as a
result including the grand prize for bread baking.

Throughout her life, Eugenia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great
grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Ellsworth Irwin Heinrich
and one son, Gerald Ellsworth Heinrich.  Survivors include three children and
their spouses,  Phyllis Heinrich Hansen and husband Orville, of Hitchcock,
Oklahoma; Rodney Heinrich and wife Patti of Okeene, Oklahoma; and Barbara
Heinrich Hagele and husband Arden of Zephyrhills, Florida; nine grandchildren and
their spouses, Mike Hansen, Dr. Rhonda Hansen and her husband Dr. Albert
Devalos,  David Hansen and his wife Stephanie; Perry Heinrich and his wife
Michelle, Rose Heinrich Rogers and her husband Gordon; Tana Hagele Pageler
and her husband Steve, Traci Hagele Oms and her husband Luis, and six great
grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to all of the doctors, nurses, staff and
volunteers of the hospital, hospice and local nursing homes for their care and
concern during the last few difficult years of Eugenia’s life.
