Alice was born on May 17, 1936 in Vici to Ivan Kenneth Fenton and Sylvia Mae (Bowers) Fenton and
passed from this life at the age of 71on December 7, 2007 after a long battle with breast cancer at
her daughter’s home in Ames where she resided for the last six months. She grew up in the
Cestos/Vici area on the family farm. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1954. She
moved to Enid after graduation and worked at Gold Spot Dairy as bookkeeper. While living in Enid
she met her husband, Dallas, during an outing at the skating rink with friends. They were married
March 12, 1955 in Vici. During their fifty-two years of marriage they lived in Chicago, Enid and for the
past thirty-six years in Goltry. During this time she worked at a boy’s home in Kansas, K-mart and
was co-owner and operator of Myers Gas Station and Gamble’s Hardware Store in Goltry. After the
closing of the gas station and hardware store, Alice spent her time being a homemaker. Alice had a
great love and talent for cooking, sewing, crocheting and gardening. Many people were blessed to
receive a product of her hard work. She loved her family and always loved to make a trip out home
to see her cousin, Margaret.
Survivors include her husband, Dallas of Goltry; one son, Bill Myers of Goltry; three daughters,
Teresa Specht of Parker, Colorado, Linda Simons of Ames and Bobbie Prentice of Drummond; a
cousin who was like a sister, Margaret Branson of Vici; one brother, Darryl Fenton of Vici; two
sisters, Kathy Moss of Alva and Lois Holly of Camargo; twelve grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Special thanks to Dr. Dexeus and his staff, Ross Hospice and all of the other people who helped care
for Alice throughout her illness.
Memorials may be given to Breast Cancer Research or the Goltry Volunteer Fire Department through
