KIOWA-Mary Schmalzried, passed away at the Hutchinson Hospital on
August 28, 2007. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 2:00
P.M. at St. John The Apostle Catholic Church in Kiowa with Father John
Strasser officiating. Burial will take place in Colorado at a later date.
Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa, Kansas.

She was born on August 15, 1919 to John and Willa Jones Schmalzried at
Victor, Colorado. She attended and graduated from Southwestern
College in Wetherford, Oklahoma with a degree in business. After
college she worked as a clerk for the St. Paul’s Insurance Agency in
Oklahoma. She attended St. John The Apostle Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; John
Schmalzried, two sisters; Jo Brown and Ethel Miller, one nephew; Mike
Miller and special longtime friend; Pat Hooper.
She is survived by one sister; Grace Baldwin of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma,
nieces and nephews; Kenny Baldwin, Christine Miller Elias, John Miller,
Steve Miller, Melody Miller Zimmer, Gay Schmalzried and numerous great
nieces and nephews.
August 28, 2007. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 2:00
