KIOWA-Berniece Mae Vogel Spicer- Funeral service will be Monday, September
10, 2007 at 1:30 P.M. at the United Methodist Church with Pastor Wayne Stephens
officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Hazelton, Kansas.
Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa, Kansas.
She was born on December 12, 1921 in Alfalfa County, Oklahoma to Albert and
Elizabeth Gillig Vogel and suddenly passed away on Friday, September 7, 2007 at
the Kiowa District Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George, one son;
Stanley Spicer, two daughters; Susan Spicer Luthi and Karen Spicer, two
brothers, John Vogel, Richard Vogel, and one sister; Marguerite Vogel Brown.
She is survived by a very dear friend; Bud Schupbach, one son; Sam Spicer and
wife, Cathy of Hazelton, six grandchildren; Megan Vandervoort and husband,
Larey of North Richland Hills, Texas, Cassi Luthi of Wichita, Kansas, Hanna, Haley,
Hattie and Hunter Spicer of Hazelton, one great-grandchild, Lexi Vandervoort of
North Richland Hills, Texas, one brother, Albert Junior Vogel, one sister; Virginia
Vogel Scott, son-in-law; Dannie Luthi, special friend, Carol Reynolds.
Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of Kiowa or South
Barber Elementary Project Playground.
