| HAZELTON-Myrtle Irene (Terry) Swafford, 83, died December 22, 2007 at Dillon Living Center, Hutchinson KS. She was born February 11, 1924 at Waldron, Ks. the daughter of William & Rebecca (Salven) Terry. A resident of Dillon Living Center, formerly of Corwin & Hazelton. She was of Presbyterian faith. On May1, 1942 she married Lloyd D. Swafford at Anthony, KS. He died July 12, 2004. She will be greatly missed by her children; William (Bill) Swafford & wife, Jannette of Pratt, daughter-in-law; Shirley Swafford of Centerton, AR, Karen Martin & her husband, Jim of Hutchinson, Danny Swafford of Hazelton, Pam Hardin of Nickerson. Seven grandchildren, Scott Swafford, Sacramento, CA, Kevin Swafford, Boncarbo, CO, Mary Ann Cloutier, Hosington, KS, Jeff Martin, Wichita, Kecia (Martin) Johndrow, Cedar Park, TX, Jason Martin, Cedar Park, TX, Kristan (Watkins) Bode, Hutchinson, and 12 great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law; Elizabeth Terry, Kiowa, and Ester Terry, Sabatha, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two sons, Myrle D. Swafford and Douglas Alan Swafford and two grandchildren; Michael Swafford and Joshua Swafford, her parents, four brothers; infant brother, Walter, Leo, Carl, Charlie, and Tommy, four sisters; Marie, Emma, Etta & Loyce. She worked 14 years at Kiowa Manor as a CA and later as a Medication Aid. For many years she belonged to the February Birthday Club, close friends who celebrated their birthdays together. She looked forward to this each year. In later years she enjoyed quilting, making a quilt for each child and grandchild. She was an avid Bingo Fan. Funeral service will be Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Kiowa, Ks. with Pastor Frank DeFisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa, Kansas. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Owl's Senior Center at Hazelton through the funeral home. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. |
