Cherokee-Funeral service for Helen Orvella White, age 96, will be
Saturday, Sept 1, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at First Christian Church in Cherokee
with Rev. Gail Edmison officiating. Burial will follow at Auburn Cemetery
with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee. Online
condolences may be shared with the family at www.lanmanmemorials.
com. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the family
being present from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
Helen Orvella White was born on August 8, 1911 in Lambert to Lewis Leroy
Baltz and Laura Elvina Oringderff Baltz and passed from this life on August
28, 2007 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid. Orvella lived in
this area all of her life. She married Carroll Montell White on September
13, 1930 at Lambert. Orvella was a member of the First Christian Church in
Cherokee, Home Demonstration Club and a card club. She enjoyed
fishing in any weather, her church family groups, spending time with
grandchildren and great grandchildren. Orvella loved shopping and
bowling.
Survivors include one daughter, Rose Carole Cousins of Wichita, Kansas;
two sons, Fred L. White of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Larry R. White
and wife, Rosie of Cherokee; one sister, Barbara Brady of Alva; one
brother, Dean Baltz of Alva; seven grandchildren, Ronald Dana Cousins,
Caron Cousins Dumler, Thomas Montell White, Jeffrey Scott White, Dianna
Rose White, Danny Ray White, Brian Jay White and twenty-three great
grandchildren.
Those preceding Orvella in death include her husband, Carroll Montell
White in 1987; four sisters, Roberta Belcher, Mary Francis Allen, Virginia
Matthews and Jean Trier; two brothers, John Baltz and Derrell Baltz;
grandchild, Nancy Elizabeth Cousins, one great granddaughter, son-in-
law, Ronald Cousins; daughter-in-law, Ilene White.
Memorials may be given to Auburn Cemetery through the funeral home.
