| Lambert-Frances Josephine Brune, 87, died at her home April 26, 2008. She was born December 18, 1920 near Dacoma to William W. and Myrtle F. Fox. She attended Keystone Grade School and graduated from Lambert High School. Frances was married to Jesse J. Wilkinson on July 16, 1939 in Cherokee, by W.A. Keller and lived in Lambert until 1940. They moved to California and daughter, Karen Ann was born in 1942. During World War II, Frances worked for Western Pipe and Steel as a tack welder in the shipyards. Jesse and Frances returned to Lambert in 1946 and bought Lambert Grocery. Jesse died November 11, 1946. Frances married Herman Brune on December 18, 1948 in Lambert. Two boys and a girl were born to their marriage. She continued to run the Lambert Grocery until it closed in 1969. She then worked at the Cherokee Hospital until her retirement in 1992. Her husband, Herman, passed away May 31, 2001. Preceding her in death was her husband, Herman; brothers, Oren, Wesley, and Alan and her sister, Leota Fox Herren. She leaves behind her daughter, Karen Polly and husband, Clark; her son, Ronnie Brune and wife, Brenda; her daughter, Saundra Boyd and husband, John and her son, Franklin Brune. She also leaves grandchildren, Christina Polly Long and husband, Tim, Michelle Polly Wilkes and husband, Dwight, Sara Brune Stringer and husband, Louis, James Franklin Brune, Kacey Boyd and fiancé, Taylor Gilpin and Jodi Boyd; great-grandchildren, Brindilyn Ferbert, Austin Wilkes, Hunter Long and Collin Stringer; three sisters, Harriet Farriester, Eva Mae Stout and Opal Mudd and one sister-in-law, Freda Mae Brune Austin. Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. at Lanman Chapel in Cherokee with Rev. Carolyn Murrow officiating. Burial will be at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc. of Cherokee. Viewing will be Monday from 11:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Memorials may be given to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society through the funeral home. |
