Enid, formerly of Cherokee-Funeral service for Mike Caywood will be Monday,
March 31, 2008 at 2:00 P.M.  at First Baptist Church in Cherokee with Rev. Tom
Cooksey, Rev. Jerry Holt and Don Loomis officiating.   Burial will follow at
Cherokee Municipal Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of
Cherokee.  The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 until 8:30 P.M.  at
the funeral home.   

Mike was born on November 27, 1934 in Cherokee to Everett Caywood and Opal
Linfoot Caywood and passed from this life on March 26, 2008 at The Living Center
in Enid.  Mike was in the U.S. Navy from 1953 until 1957.  On April 30, 1965 he
married Margie Darlene Williams.  When Mike lived in Cherokee, he worked as a
lineman for Alfalfa Electric Cooperative, served as deacon at First Baptist Church
and after moving to Enid, he also served as deacon at Liberty Baptist Church.  In
Cherokee he served on many church committees, taught Royal Ambassadors,
taught Sunday School at Cherokee Manor and drove the church van for many
years.  He loved church activities and brotherhood.   Mike was part of the
Cherokee Auxiliary Police Department.  Many pastimes that he enjoyed include
hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding and spending time with grandchildren.  Mike
lived for God, his wife, Margie, his kids, his grandchildren and nieces and
nephews.

Survivors include his wife, Margie of Enid; two sons, Mickey Caywood and wife,
Debbie of Lexington and Rickey Caywood and wife, Gail of McAlister; two
daughters, Tammie Nelson of Enid and Shelly Bradford and husband, Willie of
Portland, Oregon; thirteen grandchildren, Ean Caywood of Lexington, ShiAnne
Cook of Alva, Colten Lee Caywood of Piedmont, Nathan, Garrett and Holly Caywood
of McAlister, Lauren Nelson and  Matthew Nelson of Enid, Janelle Cunningham and
Sarah Bradford of Milwaukee, Oregon, Angelia Cunningham of Drummond, Nicole
Perez and Jessica Cunningham of Kiowa, Kansas; six great grandchildren, Anna
Perez, Emilio Perez, ReAnna Dunlap, Randlyne Dunlap, Sebastian and Aunisty
Caywood;  two sisters, Sheron Smith and Connie Gaff, both of Cherokee and
numerous nieces and nephews.

Those who preceded Mike in death include his father, Everett Caywood; his
mother, Opal Linfoot Caywood and one brother, Jerry Caywood.

Memorials may be given to Downs Syndrome Association of Tulsa through the
funeral home.
