| Kiowa Hospital District Manor. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 13, andrRon Allenbach. Burial will follow in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery at Burlington. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa, Ks. Marvin was born on August 5, 1918 at Burlington to Isaac and Marie Somerholder Diel. He attended Burlington school. On April 26, 1942 he and Matilda Raaf were united in marriage. He and Tillie raised their family on the farm outside of Burlington. He loved to farm and work with cattle. He was on the Alfalfa County Fair Board for numerous years. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Marcine Diel, Oliver Diel; two sisters, Wilma Diel, Stella Jones; one son, Rex Diel. He is survived by his wife, Tillie; one son, Don Diel of Alva, Ok; two daughters, Catherine Rose of Mission, Tx.; Georgia Diel of Wichita, Ks; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, one brother, Jake Diel of Amarillo, Tx.; two sisters, Vera Andrews of Newkirk, Oklahoma, Luella Wenninger of Morton, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Kiowa Hospital District Manor through the funeral home. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. |
