| KIOWA-Jerry “Tex” Dixon, 82, passed away on January 7, 2008 at Anthony, Kansas. Funeral service will be on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Southern Baptist Church in Kiowa with Pastor Ken Bowden officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa, Kansas. Tex was born on April 6, 1925 to George and Edna McClanahan Dixon at Hamlin, Arkansas. He attended school up to the seventh grade when he had to quit to help his dad. He had worked in various occupations including, carpentry, harvesting, worked on a shrimp boat, farming and worked for the City of Kiowa for many years. He never knew a stranger, he liked to garden and dearly loved his dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother; James Benjamin Dixon, one sister; Violet. He is survived by his wife, Virginia of Kiowa, one daughter; Jerry McNeal and husband, Billy of Kiowa, two grandchildren; Joy Little of Alva, Oklahoma, J.J. McNeal of Kiowa, two great grandchildren; Karlissa Little and Lexus Bridwell both of Alva. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 9, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. |
