| A celebration of life service for Randall (Randy) Neal Evans Grimes, 62, of Helena, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Nash Christian Church with Pastor Dan O'Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at New Home Cemetery near Nash. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. in Helena. Visitation will be Monday, May 12, 2008 at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Randy was born October 29, 1945 in Enid, Oklahoma to Harvey and Frances Grimes. He passed away Friday, May 9, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Randy attended all 12 years at Hillsdale and graduated high school in 1963. He attended Oklahoma State University and was a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity. He served his country as a proud member of the United States Air Force in the Philippines and Pakistan. He was honorably discharged as Staff Sergeant in November 1971. Randy farmed with his father for many years and lived on the family farm west of Hillsdale. He was a member of the Carrier Congregational Church and served on the Chisholm School Board. He was a sales representative at Cherokee Livestock Sales, Inc. and was a supporter of 4-H and FFA. Surviving Randy are his wife, Phyllis; his children, Tim Inman and his wife, Cheryl of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Tammy Gaff and her husband, Dusty of Jet, Oklahoma and Trent Inman of Stillwater, Oklahoma; his father, Harvey Grimes and his sister, Mary Jean Thompson, both of Keller, Texas; his father-in-law and mother in-law, Clifford and Wanda House. His grandchildren--Justin and Cody Inman, Dakota and Cheyenne Gaff and Avery Inman--affectionately called him "Pa", and they were and always will be his pride and joy. In addition he is survived by beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Grimes. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nash Christian Church Building Fund through the funeral home. |
