| Helena- Funeral service for Paul Milton Keiffer, age 80, will be Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Helena with Rev. Vera Walton officiating. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery south of Helena with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Tuesday from 10:00 A.m. until 7: 00 P.M. at the funeral home and before the service at the church. Paul Milton Keiffer was born to R.F. and Lola Thompson Keiffer at Helena on August 9, 1927 and passed from this life on February 2, 2008 at The Commons in Enid. He graduated from Helena High School and Oklahoma State University. On September 24, 1950 Paul married Betty Seago in Stillwater. They returned to Helena after his graduating from O.S.U. to raise wheat and cattle. He spent many years in agriculture related community service, serving on the local and county Fair Boards, Farmer’s Elevator Board, A.S.C.S. Committee, Union Equity Advisory Committee and Advisory Council to the Division of Agriculture at O.S.U. He received many awards for his leadership and was named as Outstanding Farmer of Oklahoma. Paul was installed in Oklahoma Grain Hall of Fame at O.S.U. in 1977. Paul was a member of the Helena United Methodist Church where he served as treasurer for many years. Paul is survived by his wife, Betty of Helena; three children, Paula Miller and husband, Larry of Enid, Dean Keiffer and wife, Cindy of Helena, Cynda Sheets and husband, Tom of Enid; seven grandsons, Chris Miller and wife, Jessica of Bartlesville, Kyle Miller at Missouri University, Kevin Miller of Enid, Ethan Keiffer and wife, Stacy of Crescent, Eric Keiffer and wife, Carla of Little Rock, Arkansas, Matt Sheets of Norman, Michael Sheets of Stillwater and one great grandchild, Kinzie Keiffer He was preceded in death by his parents, R.F. and Lola; one sister, Eleanore Ging and one brother, Leo Keiffer. Memorials may be given to the church or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation through the funeral home. |
