| Ringwood-Funeral service for Harvey Edward Krause, 83, will be Friday, December 19, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church in Ringwood with Rev. with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena. Viewing will be Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. and Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the family present 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Harvey was born on February 4, 1925 at Collinsville to John Krause and Anna Ediger Krause and passed from this life on December 16, 2008 at his home in Ringwood. After high school graduation Harvey served in the U.S. Army from 1943 until 1945 receiving the Marksman award. He was awarded the Purple Heart, serving under General Patton. He then attended Enid Business School on his return. On November 6, 1953 Harvey married Leona Hagen in Enid at the Evangelical United Brethren Church celebrating 55 years of marriage. He was a firefighter for the Enid Fire Department, retiring in 1970. Harvey was also a mail carrier for the city of Enid, retiring in 1987. Harvey and Leona moved from Enid and have lived in the Ringwood area for 25 years. He was a member of the First Baptist church in Ringwood and delivered senior meals from Ringwood to Helena and Cherokee. Harvey delighted in occupying his spare time with woodworking. Survivors include his wife, Leona of Ringwood; three children, Marla Vaverka of Hennessey, Jana McAlister of Nash and Debra Kretzschmar of Wichita; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Those who preceded Harvey in death include his parents and one brother, Arnold. Memorials may be given to the Ringwood First Baptist Church through the funeral home. |
