| Sybil was born September 29, 1915 to Howard G. and Stella E. Walker at their home in Farry, Oklahoma and passed from this life on June 6, 2008 at the age of 92 years 8 months and 7 days. Sybil attended school and graduated from Alva High School in 1933. She married James Russell “Mack” McPherson in March of 1941and they traveled extensively with his construction profession. He preceded her in death in January of 1964. They operated restaurants in Hardtner at the Hotel and Burlington, Oklahoma then she attended Beech’s Beauty School in Enid graduating in 1953. She operated her own beauty shop in Hennessey, Oklahoma until moving to Hardtner, in 1957 and opening a shop there. She operated in Hardtner until 1969 when she moved to Salina, Ks. and worked as a Cottage Parent at K.V.R.C. until retiring in 1982 and moving to Hutchinson, Ks. Sybil married Roger Marsh in September of 1987, moving to Wichita, Ks. The couple moved to Kiowa in 1999, where she entered Kiowa Hospital District Manor in 2005. Roger died at the Manor in December of 2006. Preceding her in death were her parents, Howard and Stella Walker, her brothers; Harold, Virden, and Ed Walker, her sister; Mabel “Babe” Gerhardt and her husbands; “Mack” and Roger. Surviving her are her son, Larry McPherson and wife, Mary of Alva, Ok., two granddaughters; Patricia McCully and husband, Dan of Newton, Ks., Susan Spissu and husband, Neil of Brentwood, Tenn., five great-grandchildren; Ashley Barone and Skylar Barone of Hutchinson, Kayla Barone and Dylan Barone of Newton, Tyler Spissu of Brentwood, Tenn., one great great granddaughter; Makayla Barone of Hutchinson, one sister; Bernice Bergen of Borger, Tx., one brother Eldon “Bud” Walker and wife, Laura of Clearwater, Ks., numerous nieces, nephews and friends including two special friends, Cleta Parker and Betty Wiley both of the Manor. |
