Cherokee-Funeral service for Lawrence Dean Nossaman, age 85, will be Saturday,
January 26, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Lanman Funeral Home Chapel in Cherokee with
Rev. Jim Edmison officiating.  Burial will be at Maud Cemetery in Cunningham,
Kansas at 2:00 P.M., with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of
Cherokee.  Viewing will be on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M., Friday from
10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. and Saturday before the service at the funeral home.  

Dean was born on October 29, 1922 in Sawyer, Kansas to William Nossaman and
Daisy Pearl Bundy Nossaman and passed from this life on January 22, 2008 at
Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944
to 1946. He moved from Pratt, Kansas and had made Cherokee his home for many
years.  Dean was in the oilfield business, owning and operating Dean Drilling. He
had worked until he was 82 years old, retiring in 2005.   He attended the United
Methodist Church in Cherokee and was a member of the Alva Moose Lodge, the
Moose Legion and the VFW.  

Survivors include his daughter, Janet Dunham of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; two
brothers, Dale Nossaman of Pratt, Kansas and LaVerne Nossaman of Shreveport,
Louisiana; two grandchildren, Loni Jo Dunham and Joel Dunham; three great
grandchildren, Krypton Dean Dunham, Trinity Lynn Dunham and Tayvin James
Dunham and best friends, Fran Welch of Alva and Bill Hurst of Cherokee.

Dean was preceded in death by his wife, June Nossaman and his son, Lonny Dean
Nossaman.

Memorials may be given to the Disabled American Veterans – Enid Chapter
through the funeral home.
