| KIOWA-Albert Junior Vogel, passed away on January 6, 2008 at Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Kiowa with Pastor Wayne Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa, Kansas. Albert was born on March 26, 1919 at the family farm in Alfalfa county, Oklahoma. He attended Kiowa schools and after graduation joined the Army Calvery before the war when the Calvery disbanded he joined the Army Medical Corp and served in Guam for four years. After the war he became a plumber in Denver, Colorado. Upon retirement he returned to Kiowa to live near his family. Albert was preceded in death by his parents; Albert and Elizabeth Gillig Vogel, two sisters; Marguerite Brown and Berniece Spicer, two brothers; John Vogel and Lawrence R. Vogel. He is survived by one sister; Virginia Scott of Kiowa and a large group of loving nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Kiowa Historical Society or the United Methodist Church through the funeral home. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 8, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. |
