| KIOWA-Sherry Lynn Webb passed away on September 23, 2008 in Wichita. Funeral service will be Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Medicine Lodge with Rev. Steve Todd officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Hazelton at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa, Kansas. Sherry was born on May 19, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Forest Lee Spain and Musetta Emma Lane Spain. Dearl and Sherry met when they were 15 years old in Weatherford, Oklahoma as he visited his grandmother. Sherry had worked in Weatherford, Oklahoma as a nurse’s aide at a nursing home for a period of time. They met again about 7 years ago in Weatherford and since they were both single, they decided to marry. All of her married life, Sherry has been very ill. She loved her pastor and church family and working with children at the First Assembly of God Church in Medicine Lodge where she was a member. Because of her illness she could not continue working with the children. With one of her last breaths she asked about her grandchildren whom she loved so dearly. This past year became of Sherry’s illness her caretaker, the VA, found it necessary to move her to a care home in Anthony. It was from the Anthony Care Home that she was transported by helicopter to St. Francis Hospital in Wichita on Tuesday when she passed away. She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Robert, Charles (Chuck) and, Ron. She is survived by her husband; Veterans Chaplain Dearl Webb of Kiowa; three sisters and one brother; Barbara Dannull and husband, Ted, Elaine Cain and husband, Bruce Dewayne Spain all of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Yvonne Bryan and husband, Gene of Comanche, Texas; three daughters Brandi Maddox, Regina Maddux, Tawni Sifuentes all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and other family members and friends that will dearly miss her. Memorials may be made to the Anthony Community Care Center through the funeral home. Visitation will be Friday, September 26, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. |
