| Aline-Funeral service for Herbert Allen Murray will be Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Aline with Rev. Kenneth Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Aline Star Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena. Herbert Allen Murray was born on March 4, 1929 at Avard, Oklahoma to Charles Murray Jr. and Blanche McKenna Murray and passed from this life on April 25, 2008 at his home in Aline. He went to grade school at Avard and graduated from Waynoka High School. He worked on the railroad nine months in 1947-48 and on oil rigs in 1948-49. Herb also farmed and worked in a Ford dealership. He married Frieda Fields on August 22, 1950. He was in the U.S. Army in the 61st Field Artillery Batillion, 1st Cavalry Division from 1951 – 1953. Herb started Murray’s Trucking in 1974 and retired in 1993. He worked part-time for the city of Aline. Survivors include two sons, Allen Murray of Aline and Ronald Murray of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Judy Webb of Ohio; two grandchildren, Charles Murray of Aline and Shawn Murray of Houston, Texas; four brothers and one sister. He was preceded in death by his wife and two brothers. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice through the funeral home. |
