Lanman Funeral Home Staff
Leroy Dean (L.D.) Blehm, the son of Roy Harrison and Mary Ava (Wray) Blehm, was
born March 8, 1928 at Hitchcock, Oklahoma and passed from this life August 22m
2009 at the Okeene Hospital after a long illness.

He attended Centralia and Hitchcock schools, driving one of the Hitchcock school
busses while still attending school there.

L.D. Married Oma Lee Baird in 1948.  After their divorce, he left his daughter,
Becky, to be raised by his parents.  He was united in marriage in 1951 to Lela
Louise Jury.  Their union was blessed with two sons and lasted 51 years, until
Lela's death in 2002.  L.D. and his sons farmed west of Hitchcock and operated
Blehm Construction Company, building ponds, terraces and oil field locations all
over this part of the state. After they started up Blehm Mud Disposal on their farm
west of Hitchcock, they didn't do as much construction work, but L.D.'s love of
"moving dirt and big equipment" never faded.  No matter what road you drove
down we would remember building something for someone, "just right down
there". He continued to operate the disposal  and run cattle until his health failed.
He lived his whole life in the Hitchcock area an was a member of the United
Methodist Church there.

L. D. is survived by his daughter, Becky Ake and her husband Larrry, west of
Hitchcock; his son, Brad Blehm and his wife, Henri of Okeene; three grandchildren
, Pam Ake Drake, Katie Blehm, Thomas Blehm; two great grandchildren, Levi Drake
and Beca Drake; and on sister, Pat Price of Watonga.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and son, Tom.
