George was born on November 23, 1910 in Nash to Henry Dittner and Alma
Boehm Dittner and passed from this life on March 29, 2009 at Great Plains Care
Center in Helena.    George married Bertha Penney on July 25, 1934 in Oklahoma
City.  He served the U.S. Navy and was stationed at Carrier Aircraft Service at
Barber Point, Hawaii.  George and Bertha lived between Hillsdale and Goltry and
attended church in Hillsdale.  In 1963 they built a home in Goltry and then
attended the Goltry Congregational UCC.  George farmed in the area, and for a
hobby he made doll houses.    The first one that he made was for his wife,
Bertha.  He was interviewed by Channel 6 about his doll houses.  During the
interview, he also showed them his chicken house, where he raised “show”
Bantam chickens.  Although George and Bertha had no children, they were
loved and blessed by many children in Goltry and the surrounding communities.

Survivors include his sister, Louise Stuller of Atlanta, Georgia and many nieces
and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha, in 1990; three sisters, Matilda
Dittner, Clara Huffman and Elsie Streich and two brothers, Herbert Dittner and
Lewis Dittner.

Memorials may be given to the Goltry Fire Department or the Congregational
UCC through the funeral home.
