Burlington-Funeral Service for Aaron Leroy Farney will be Saturday, February 28,
2009 at 11:30 A.M. at the Apostolic Christian Church in Kiowa, Kansas with Ron
Allenbach and Jeff Bahr officiating.  Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian
Cemetery near Burlington with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of
Cherokee.  Memories may be shared with the family at www.lanmanmemorials.com.
 

Aaron was born on September 10, 1923 to Reuben and Lydia Luthi Farney on the
family farm near Driftwood and passed from this life on February 25, 2009 at Mercy
Health Center in Oklahoma City.   He attended school in Driftwood, graduating in
1941.  After graduation he went to Baltimore, Maryland, working for the Glen L.
Martin Airplane Factory.  In 1942 Aaron went to Seattle, Washington and worked for
Boeing Aircraft and Associated Shipyards.  He entered the United States Air Force
in April 1943, was stationed in France and was discharged in March of 1946.  Aaron
attended Oklahoma A & M College where he was a member of the Farm House
Fraternity.  He graduated in 1950 with a degree in Agronomy.  Aaron was a farmer
and rancher all of his life.  He attended the Apostolic Christian Church in Kiowa,
Kansas.  Aaron married Erline McDowell on November 1, 1953 in the Christian
Church in Cherokee.  

Aaron is survived by his wife, Erline of Burlington; two sons, Stephen Lynn Farney
of Cherokee and Daniel James Farney and wife, Stacey of Cherokee;
granddaughters, Diana Kaye Hamilton and husband, Ryan of Waukomis, Kandice
Moody and Sandy Doffer of Enid and Kelcie Moody of Cherokee; four great
grandsons, Ethan Aaron Hamilton, Lane Michael, Cameron John and Scott Daniel
Doffer; one brother, Lloyd Farney of Wichita, Kansas and five nieces.

He was preceded in death by his mother on October 15, 1958; his father on
October 9, 1985; one son, Timothy Aaron on November 22, 1962 and one sister,
Helen White in 2002.

Memorials may be given to the Leukemia Association or the Church through the
funeral home.
