Hitchcock-Funeral service for Clarion Geis, 88, will be Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at
2:00 P.M. at Immanuel Baptist Church near Loyal  with Rev. Roger Freelander
officiating.  Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery near Okeene with arrangements
by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Okeene. Memories may be shared with the family
by going to www.lanmanmemorials.com.  The casket will be open at the funeral
home on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. and  after the service on
Wednesday.

Clarion was born  near Hitchcock on October 30, 1920, the son of Ezra and Mollie
Greb Geis and passed from this life on May 23, 2009 at the Okeene Hospital.  He
was a lifelong resident of the Hitchcock area and graduated from high school
there.  He and Dorothy Mae Duffy were married at Loyal on August 28, 1943.  
Clarion was a farmer but he found time to take an active part in his community
where he belonged to the Loyal Lions Club, served on the Board of Directors at
Sooners Cooperative from 1967 until 1988 and served on the Hitchcock School
Board.  He was a Blaine County FSA Committeeman for fifteen years  and was a
lifetime member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Loyal where he was church
treasurer for fifty years.  Clarion was named Coop Director of the Year in 1979 by
the Farmers Cooperative Grain Dealers Association and he was inducted into the
Blaine County Hall of Fame in 1993.

Those who have preceded Clarion in death are his wife, Dorothy on February 23,
1982; one brother, Calvin Geis and one sister, Rocille Groenewold.

He is survived by his children, Jeanette Wright and husband, Leon of La Feria,
Texas, Sandra Dotter of Clinton, and Danny Geis and wife, Shirla of Loyal; nine
grandchildren, Colby Wright and wife, Sonia, Bryan Wright and wife, Frankie, Jason
Dotter and wife, Jennifer, Kathryn Humphrey, Andrea Travis and husband, Michael,
Jarod Geis, Jolene Brown and husband, Marcus, Britney Geis and Samantha Geis;
ten great-grandchildren, Bryan Wright, Ashley Wright, Alex Wright, Julia Wright,
Jeremiah Dotter, Julianna Dotter, Joel Dotter, Jerry Travis, Lilly Travis and Kyle
Geis; one brother, Don Geis and wife, Shirley of Norman; one brother-in-law, Dallas
Groenewold of Burkburnett, Texas; one sister-in-law, Rebekah Geis of Omega.
