Mr. Hager was born July 17, 1916 in rural Major County Oklahoma and was the
oldest surviving member of the Hedrick pioneer family who homesteaded land in
what became the Oakdale community near Aline, OK.  Mr. Hager grew up in the
community and met his wife, Mildred Julian, while she was a teacher at the
Oakdale School. She preceded him in death. They married June 10, 1942 and had
two children, Gale Hale of Riverside, CA and Keith Hager and wife, Ann, of
Kingman, KS.  Mr. Hager has 2 grandchildren, Chad Hales and wife, Pam of Yorba
Linda, CA and Julienne Hoffman of Douglass, KS.  His great grandchildren are
Jared, Luke, Micah, and Abigail Hales and Cody Hoffman.  Mr. Hager was the most
senior surviving descendant of the P.C. Hedrick family. The Hedrick’s are a well-
known pioneer family of the rural Oakdale community near Aline and Cleo Springs,
Oklahoma. Mr. Hager’s maternal grandparents, P.C. and Amy Hedrick were
prominent members of the community and homesteaded land during the opening
of the Cherokee Outlet in 1893. They donated the land on which the Oakdale
School and later the Oakdale Methodist Church were built. The Oakdale School is a
Registered Oklahoma Historic Landmark.

Mr.  Hager worked for Boeing Aircraft Company in Wichita, Kansas during WW II
and in 1946 became the owner of Hager Produce in Aline, which he operated for
the next 10 years. In 1957, Mr. Hager was again employed by Boeing Aircraft
Company in Wichita and subsequently by Duo- Bed Corporation and Cessna
Aircraft Company for the next 25 years.  Upon his retirement in 1981, Mr. Hager
moved to Alva to his present residence at 1106 Third Street. He was a member of
the Do Little Camping Club and the Northwestern Antique Car Club. He was a
member of the Aline United Methodist Church for the last 60 years and attended
regularly. He was a member of the Masons for over 50 years and is a past member
of the Oddfellows and Rebeckahs.  He served on the board of the Alva Senior
Citizens and was active in their daily activities and fundraising projects.
Mr. Hager resided in the Share Convalescent Home in Alva for the past few years.

Memorials may be made to Aline United Methodist Church through the funeral
home.
