TOMBALL, TEXAS-Formerly of Burlington, Oklahoma, Helen was born on the family farm on July 20,
1921 near Burlington, Oklahoma to Elias and Mary Somerhalder and passed away on May 25, 2009
at Tomball Regional Hospital, Tomball, Texas.  She attended the Burlington school system, where
she graduated from high school with the class of 1939.  At a young age, she confessed her faith in
God and became a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Burlington and later of Kiowa.  She
married Wayne Kircher, and they raised two daughters: Nancy and Rebecca.  One daughter; Mayre
Jane, died in infancy.  Helen and Wayne lived for many years on the family farm near Burlington.  
They owned and operated Kircher Grocery for many years until Wayne’s health deteriorated. They
moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where they were partners in a franchise day care business that her
brother and sister-in-law, John and Charlene Somerhalder managed.  A few years after Wayne’s
death, she met and married Lyle Huette from Fairbury, Illinois.  After Lyle’s death, Helen moved to
Fairview, Oklahoma to be closer to her daughter, Becky.  At the time of her death she resided at The
Heritage Retirement Center in Tomball, Texas near the home of her daughter, Nancy.  
Preceding her in death are husbands, Wayne Kircher and Lyle Huette; daughter, Mayre Jane
Kircher; granddaughter, Pamela Sue McMurphy; step grandson, Jonathan Zimmerman; parents,
Elias and Mary Somerhalder; parents-in-law, Sophia and Edward Kircher; two sisters, Alberta Rassi
and Kathryn Banwart; brother-in-law, Raymond Banwart; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Della
Kircher; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Virginia Kircher.  
Surviving are daughters, Nancy Johnson and husband, Gary, Rebecca McMurphy and husband,
Kenneth; grandchildren, Christopher Johnson and wife, Angie, Stephanie Orlando and husband,
Paul; great grandchildren, Beau, Zachary and Emily Grace Orlando; stepchildren, Russ Huette and
wife, Jan, Loretta Zimmerman and husband, Paul, Joan Kuntz and husband, Bill; a number of step
grandchildren and step great grandchildren; three brothers, Jacob Somerhalder and wife, Bonita,
Robert Somerhalder and wife, Carol, John Somerhalder and wife, Charlene; one sister, Shirley Herd
and husband, Jerry; one brother-in-law, Solomon Rassi and wife, Sharilyn; many nieces; nephews;
cousins and friends
Memorials may be made to the Apostolic Christian Church, Apostolic Christian Church handicap
foundation, Burlington Education Foundation through the funeral home.  
The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-7.
