Comments = I had the pleasure of having Pat for a classmate her Jr. & Sr. year in
Seiling.  She was such a joy!  Pat submitted a recipe for Oatmeal Crispy cookies in
the Seiling paper.  To this day, I still make these cookies and they have to be one of
our favorites.  I was so impressed with all of Pat's accomplishments.  I know the
family is very proud of her.

Comments = Pat was my classmate at Seiling HS.  She was always very friendly and
respectful of others.  Her father George was one of my teachers in highschool.  I am
very proud of Pat for all of her accomplishments and especially her wonderful family
and long marriage.
OKEENE: Funeral service for Patricia Jean Kellner, 69, will be Saturday, December
12, 2009 at 10:00 A.M., at the Okeene United Methodist Church in Okeene with Rev.
George Rowe and Rev. Charlie Graves officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakwood
Memorial Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc., of Okeene.  
Memories may be shared with the family at www.lanmanmemorials.com.  The casket
will be open at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. and on
Friday from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and before the service at the   church.
Patricia was born on January 2, 1940 in Fairview, Oklahoma to George and Goldie
Purvine. She went to be with the Lord after a short illness on December 7, 2009 at
the Okeene Municipal Hospital.
Patricia graduated from Seiling High School in 1958 and soon married Julius Vern
Kellner on August 14, 1958. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Panhandle State
University, received a vocational certificate from Oklahoma State University, and
then a master’s degree in Consumer Sciences from Central State University.  She
taught vocational home economics in Waynoka, Oklahoma for one year and twenty-
three years in Okeene, Oklahoma. Some of her many honors and accomplishments
included: State Home Economics teacher of the year in 1981, selected first Merit
Mother in Oklahoma in 1986, chosen Outstanding Young Home Economics Advisor
in Oklahoma in 1995, Okeene Teacher of the Year in 1995 and 1996, and past
president of the Blaine County Retired Teachers Association. Her community
services and honors included: Okeene volunteer of the year in 2007, volunteer at
Okeene Municipal  Hospital , local blood drive volunteer for  twenty-eight years,
started the Secret Angel project, began the local Easter egg hunt, started the  
Secret Grandparents program and  started the Red Hat Ladies organization. One of
her greatest accomplishments was a recent fifty year anniversary to her husband,
Julius Kellner.  She was a member of the Okeene United Methodist Church where
she taught Sunday School for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. and Goldie M. Purvine;
sister, Saundra L. Butorvich; daughter-in-law, Joani  K. Kellner.
Survivors include her husband, Julius Kellner; four sons, Terry W. Kellner and
wife, Sue of Mooreland, Benny D. Kellner and wife, Lori of Morris, Michael A.
Kellner and wife, Lorraine of Stockton, Kansas, George D. Kellner and wife, Dana
of Parkhill; twelve grandchildren, Andrya, Amy, Sarah, Ross, Trey, Macee, Madeline,
Aaron, Chloe, Levi, Ty and Owen; one brother, Jimmie Purvine and wife, Faye of
Fay; two sisters, Yvonna Garrett and husband, Sam of Okesa  and  Carol Purvine of
Calimesa, California; three nieces and two nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made through the funeral home to Okeene
Municipal Hospital, Okeene United Methodist Church or Oklahoma FCCLA Alumni
Association – Pat Kellner Scholarship.
