Aline - Funeral service for Virginia Mae Kinney, 84, will be Wednesday, July 1,
2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Aline United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Heusel
officiating.  Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery south and west of Aline
with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena.  Condolences may
be sent to the family by going to www.lanmanmemorials.com.  Casket will be
open for viewing at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.
and before the service at the church.

Virginia Mae K
inney was born on September 21, 1924 west of Aline to Frank A.
and Mollie Young Goss and passed from this life on June 28, 2009 at the Great
Plains Care Center in Helena.  The oldest of nine children, she attended school
at Boiling Springs for eight years, then   Aline High School, graduating in 1942.  
After graduation, she moved to Gary, Indiana where she worked in an attorney’s
office. On December 31, 1942 she married William F. Kinney at Enid, Oklahoma.  
They moved to Centerville, Mississippi, then to Louisiana, then to Paris, Texas
where their oldest son, Bill, Jr., was born.  Virginia moved back to Aline to live
with her parents while Bill was stationed overseas.  They established their home
in Cherokee, Oklahoma where Virginia worked at Cherokee Hospital.  In 1950
they moved to Okarche, Oklahoma where they operated Kinney’s Café.  This is
where their youngest son, Dan Carlton, was born in 1952.  In 1954 the family
moved to Wichita, Kansas where Virginia was employed at Wesley Hospital for
141/2 years.  In 1968 they moved to Everett, Washington where she worked at
the Catholic Hospital.  In 1974 she moved to Fall River, Massachusetts where
she did office management for “Emergency Room Physicians” until 1989  when
she retired and  returned to their home in Washington.  In 1989 Dan passed away
and  in 1991 Bill, Jr. passed.  In 1992 Virginia and Bill came back home to Aline,
Oklahoma.  Virginia was President of Aline Chamber, a member of Aline Senior
Center as well as an original board member, a member of Aline United Methodist
Church and Germans from Russia.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her sons, Dan and Bill, Jr.; her
dad and mother, Frank and Mollie Goss; her sisters, Genella and Pearl.

Survivors include five grandchildren, Chris, Tim, Nikki, Jamie and Jessica; her
brothers, Bill Goss and wife, Betty of Aline, Frank Goss and wife, Mary of Aline;
her sisters, Dorthy Stallings of Alva, Mary Peters and husband, Roy of Seiling,
Georgie Haltom and husband, C. E. of Enid and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Aline Senior Citizens Center or Aline United
Methodist Church through the funeral home.
