| BURLINGTON, OK.-Annabelle Kisling, 89, passed away on September 3, 2009. Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Kiowa with Pastor Keith Fink officiating. Burial will follow in the Apostolic Cemetery at Burlington, Ok. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa, Kansas. Condolences may be shared with the family at www. lanmanmemorials.com Annabelle was born on April 11, 1920 to Otto and Mary Garnet Forester Bower in Medoc, Missouri. At a young age her family moved to the Capron area and then later to Hazelton, Kansas where she graduated from high school. She went on to more schooling at the Franklin School of Business in Wichita. She worked at the Boeing Airplane Plant in Wichita before marrying. On June 29, 1943 she married Frank Kisling in her parents’ home. They celebrated 66 years of marriage this year. When first married, they moved to Roswell, New Mexico where Frank served in the US Army. After his discharge in 1945 they moved to the Burlington area to begin farming until they retired. Annabelle was a member of the United Methodist Church, Happy Day Club, Home Demonstration Club and the Burlington FFA Mothers Club. In 1975 she was named Honorary FFA Mother. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting in her spare time. She has made all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and afghan. She also enjoyed making many craft projects and everyone loved her cinnamon rolls. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; one sister, Lucille Spicer; three brothers, Mont, Lloyd and Billy Bower. She is survived by two sons; Keith and wife, Marlene, Kent and wife, Darcy; six grandchildren, Brent Kisling, Chad Kisling, Kim Smith, Jenny Stewart, John Schupbach, Matt Schupbach, thirteen great- grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Burlington Education Foundation through the funeral home. Visitation will be Sunday, September 6, 2009 from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. the family will be present to receive friends on Monday, September 7, 2009 from 6-7 |
