| Goltry-Ruby Unruh Koehn was born to Abe J. and Lizzie Unruh February 5, 1927 in Gray County, Kansas. She passed away November 22, 2009 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid, Oklahoma. She underwent open-heart surgery, hoping to correct damage resulting from childhood rheumatic fever; however, following surgery her heart was too weakened to recover. Services will be held at Pleasant View Church of God in Christ Mennonite in Goltry on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Karoma Cemetery east of Goltry with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena. Memories may be shared with the family at www.lanmanmemorials.com. She was the fifth of eight children born to her parents and grew to adulthood on the family farm near Montezuma, Kansas. She received her education in the Homestead Country School. She was a member of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. Being touched with the needs of humanity she felt to enter into nurse’s training, and give herself to helping alleviate suffering. She graduated in March of 1952. This conviction was at the heart of her many years of nursing, and this interest remained throughout her life. For many years she served in the Church institutions and later had opportunity to serve in local hospitals and hospice. She also participated in the humanitarian outreach in Haiti. On February 26, 1971, she was married to our father, Reuben Koehn, at Montezuma, Kansas. They enjoyed over 24 years together until being separated by his death in 1995. Ruby spent these years in support of her husband’s gospel ministry. After marriage, they resided on the family farm south of Goltry. They left the farm and moved into the town of Goltry in 1973. After Dad’s passing, she lived alone in their residence until her death. We as a family appreciate the companionship and help she brought to our father. We highly regard the contribution she made to our father’s happiness in life and his usefulness in the Church. We benefitted by her being a part of the family, and we will miss her. She is survived by two brothers, Dave and wife, Julie of Montezuma, Kansas, Frank, of Phoenix, Arizona; two sisters, Lillian Koehn, wife of the late John R. Koehn of Montezuma, Kansas and Inez Unruh of Greeley, Colorado; one brother- in-law, Earnest Koehn and wife, Gladys of Montezuma, Kansas; four step-sons, Donald Koehn and wife, Aleene of Montezuma, Kansas, Gladwin Koehn and wife, Judy of Macon, Mississippi, Franklin Koehn and wife ,Saundra of Scott City, Kansas and Dennis Koehn and wife, Carlotta of Lahoma, Oklahoma; three step- daughters, Lola, Mrs. Harold H.
