Comments = Your mother was such a joy.  She was always there when our children were growing up.  
There wasn't an event go by that Evelyn wasn't there enjoying life. The endless time she devoted to
others at the nursing home and all around Cherokee.  She will be missed.
Cherokee-Funeral service for Evelyn Lines will be Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 2:00
P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Cherokee with Rev. Jim Edmison
officiating.   Burial will follow at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery with arrangements
by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee.  Viewing will be Friday from 9:00 A.M.
until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home and before at the church before the service.

Evelyn was born on February 13, 1917 to Arthur Castle and Anna Crain Castle near
Helena and passed from this life on March 16, 2009 in Waynoka.  She attended
country school near Selman, before moving to Cherokee in 1931, where she
finished 8th grade and graduated from Cherokee High School.  On October 5, 1935
she married Jesse Lee Valentine with a daughter, Donna, born to this union.  He
preceded her in death on December 27, 1940.  Evelyn then married Lee Lines on
August 9, 1946, and children, Brenda and Randy, were born.  She lived in the
Cherokee area most of her life.  Evelyn was a member of the United Methodist
Church in Cherokee.  She cooked at Cherokee Manor then, she worked on the
floor.  Later, she volunteered at the Manor over twenty years.  Evelyn also sold
Avon for thirty-five years.  She loved being a mom, grandmother and homemaker.  

Evelyn is survived by three children, Donna Soles and husband, Bobby of
Yorktown, Virginia, Brenda Shanks and husband, Duane of Waynoka and Randy
Lines and wife, Kathy of Lyons, Kansas; nine grandchildren, John Soles and wife,
Luann, Jody Baures and husband, Greg, Johnnie Smith and Tia Smith, Rusty Smith
and wife, Bonnie, Jamie Rogers and husband, Rex, Angie Lines, Dustin Shanks and
wife, Jenny, Jason Shanks and fiancé Kim Shafer and Anna Milledge and husband,
Matt; eight great grandchildren, Brandon Yadon, Ryan Soles, Jacob Soles, Brooke
Smith, Ty Smith, Jolee Smith, Tucker Smith and Nate Rogers; one sister, Joy
Callaghan and husband, Jack of Carsile, Pennsylvania.

Memorials may be given to United Methodist Church through the funeral home.
