Enid-(former Goltry)-Funeral service for Arnold E. Osburn, 91, will be Tuesday,
May 12, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Goltry UCCC with Rev. Jane Ho, Rev. Sheila Combs-
Francis and Pastor Dan O’Daniel officiating.  Burial will be in Mount Pleasant
Cemetery, Salt Fork, Oklahoma.  Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc.
of Helena.  Condolences may be shared with the family by going to www.
lanmanmemorials.com.  Casket will be open at the funeral home on Monday, 10:
00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. and after the service at the church on Tuesday.

Arnold was born on July 27, 1917 in Grant County to Cash and Clara Switzer
Osburn and passed from this life on May 9, 2009 at The Commons in Enid. When
he was six years old, Arnold and his family came to live at Salt Fork where he
attended grade school.  He was a graduate of Lamont High School and he had
walked the seven miles to school many times.  Arnold and Mattie Oliver were
married on October 15, 1955 and made their home in Goltry where Arnold was a
member of the Goltry UCCC and served as Chairman of the Board several times.  
He was also a Goltry volunteer fireman and taught First Aid.  Arnold worked for
Frisco Railroad as a telegraph operator for 30 plus years and had spent three
years during World War II in the United States Army Air Force in the Pacific
Theatre. Arnold and Mattie spent many winters in Rockport, Texas after his
retirement.  Arnold was a member of Enid Masonic Lodge #80 State of Oklahoma
of AF&AM, a 32nd Degree Mason of Scottish Rite of Guthrie and a member of
AKDAR Shrine of Tulsa, Oklahoma.   Arnold also belonged to the Rebekah Lodge
#21 and the IOOF #31.  He loved computers using one to keep current and
abreast of technology.  He made birthday cards and the wedding invitations
when he and Lorene were married.  Arnold and Lorene Dodson were married
January 6, 2006 and made their home in Enid after their marriage.

Those preceding Arnold in death are his parents and his first wife, Mattie, in
1997.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene of Enid; one brother, Harold Don Osburn of
Salt Fork; one sister, Gladys Faye Osborn of Lamont, two nephews, Ivan Osborn
and wife, Connie of Lamont and Vernon Osborn and wife, Patsy of Lamont; one
niece, Rosella Newman and husband, James of Mustang; two step-daughters,
Orpha O’Mealey and husband, Dwayne of Enid and Neadra Webb and husband,
Brent of Perry.

Memorials may be made to Cowboy Church, Goltry UCCC or The Commons
through Lanman Funeral Home, Inc of Helena.
