| Goltry-Graveside service for Dorothy “Dot” Jane Pecha, 94, will be Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the Garden Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid with Pastor Jay Drawbridge officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena. Casket will be open at the funeral home in Helena on Monday 10:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. and on Tuesday 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. Memories may be shared with the family at www.lanmanmemorials.com. Dot was born on June 16, 1914 at Nash, the daughter of Chester and Blanch Blake Howard and departed this life on Friday, January 23, 2009 at Fairview Fellowship Home. She was living in Enid when she met and married Alfred Pecha in 1972. They made their home in the Goltry area and spent 37 wonderful years together. Dot was a member of the Rebeka Lodge and the American Legion in Enid. Dot was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Enid. She worked at Garfield’s in Enid as a sales associate and later worked at Sears where she sold sewing machines and being a great seamstress, gave sewing lessons. Dot loved music, loved to dance and played the saxophone in her younger days. She had sung for many funerals and weddings. Some of her favorite things to do were gardening, fishing and raising chickens (from which she made great fried chicken). After their marriage, she and Alfred traveled extensively going to visit children and other family members. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Stanford M. Hampton and one son, Richard L. Hampton. She is survived by her husband, Alfred Pecha of Goltry; two daughters, Mary Shy and husband, James of Plano, Texas and Romona Kenyon of Dover; one son, Terry Hampton and wife, Kimberly of Frisco, Texas; six grandchildren, Jennifer Purselly Hampton, Dai Logan, Edith Preston, Linda Kenyon, Arnold Kenyon and Cindy Hoag; eight great-grandchildren, Jett Purselly, Sigourney Logan, Winifred Logan, Alexander Preston, Kathryn Kenyon, Madison Hoag, Brittany Hoag, and Lauren Hoag; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Shorty and Betty Pecha of Goltry, Lillian Steele of Oregon, Matilda Pecha of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Agnes Marie Zoller of Pennsylvania and Evelyn Pecha of Parsons, Kansas. Memorials may be made to Fairview Fellowship Home through the funeral Home. |
