| BELTON, MISSOURI-Formerly of Kiowa, Kansas Aldena Marguerite Rose, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2009. Funeral service will be Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Kiowa with Pastor Wayne Stephens officiating. Eastern Star ceremonies will be performed. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa, Ks. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.lanmanmemorials.com Aldena Marguerite Rose was born July 1, 1920 in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, the daughter of William “Bill” and Cora Moore Nida and passed from this life on May 9, 2009 at Belton, Missouri. She lived in Kiowa all of her life until she sold her home and moved to Belton to live with her son until the time of her death. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, VFW, and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Aldena liked to sew clothes and knit. She made a baby quilt for each of her great-grandsons and made many Barbie doll clothes for the girls. She worked in her flower beds and was talented at making flower arrangements. Aldena loved doing word seek puzzles and reading her Western books. Also, let’s not forget about her soaps: you did not bother her during this time. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lyle “Mike” Rose and one son, Robert “Bob” Rose. She is survived by her two children, Warren Rose and wife, Pam of Belton, Missouri and Marilyn Corr and husband, Larry of Alva, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Michael Slocter and wife, Melissa, Tony Corr, and Tammy Maxwell and husband, Brady; seven great-grandsons, Michael Neill Slocter, Brock, Brandon, and Bryce Corr, Easton, Dawson, and Carston Maxwell; one sister, Willa Mae Borger and husband, Clarence of Wichita; her brother-in-law; sisters-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 13, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Plane of Mercy through the funeral home. |
