Burlington-Graveside service for Betty Corrine Stauffer, 82, will be Thursday, June
4, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Gib Clark
officiating.  Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee.  Viewing
will be Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00
until 8:00 P.M.  Memories may be shared with the family at www.lanmanmemorials.

Betty was born on October 16, 1926 at Cherokee Masonic Hospital to Vernon E.
Watkins and Glenora F. Boldrey Watkins and passed from this life on June 1, 2009
at Kiowa Hospital District Manor in Kiowa, Kansas.  She graduated from Cherokee
High School in 1944 and after graduation worked at Beach Aircraft in Wichita,
Kansas as a sheet metal worker.  Later, Betty graduated from Northwest Beauty
Academy in Alva.  She worked for Pat Amsler in her beauty shop.  She married John
D. Hay on August 29, 1948 in Cherokee, where they continued to live. John died on
May 17, 1984 and after his death, Betty attended a refresher course at Enid Beauty
School and opened Betty’s Beauty Shop in Cherokee.  She operated the shop for
several years and had to close it due to her health.  On April 24, 1989 she married
E. LeRoy Stauffer in Miami, Oklahoma, making their residence in Burlington.  Betty
was a member of First Christian Church in Cherokee.

Those who preceded Betty in death include her first husband, John Hay; her
parents and one sister, Virginia Wilton.

Survivors include her husband, LeRoy Stauffer of Burlington; two daughters,
Donna Prince and husband, Mack of Amorita; Debbie Jenlink and husband, Tim of
Cherokee; four grandchildren, Joby Prince of Starkville, Mississippi, Matthew
Jenlink of Cherokee, Macky Prince, Jr. of Enid and Daylon Caruthers of Cherokee;
great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; great nieces; great nephews and her family
at Kiowa Manor.

Memorials may be given to Kiowa Manor or ABBD Senior Center through the
funeral home.
