| HARDTNER-Nadine Marie Sternberger, 73, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 in Wichita. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Methodist Church in Hardtner with Pastor Elizabeth Kirkwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Hardtner-Elwood Cemetery at Hardtner. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa, Kansas. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.lanmanmemorials.com Nadine was born on the family farm north of Alva, Oklahoma on August 30, 1936 to Autmer Gallon and Pearl Wright Gallon. She graduated from Alva High School and attended NWOSU in Alva graduating with the class of1958 with a degree in teaching. She taught in the Cherokee and Hardtner schools. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hardtner and was very involved with the United Methodist Women’s group. She was active in the Delta Zeta Alumni Sorority in Alva, receiving her 50 year recognition last year. She was preceded in death by her parents; two infants brothers. She is survived by her husband; Lee Alan of Hardtner; three sons; Joe Sternberger of Wichita, Jeff Sternberger and wife, Colleen of Garden City, Kansas, Mark Sternberger and wife, Ann of Wichita; one daughter, Lesa Zenger and husband, Greg of Cuba, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Jena, Eric, Robin, Cody, Brandon, Whitney, Connor; two great grandchildren, Alexander and Sophia; two sisters, Barbara Ann Bouziden of Alva, Oklahoma and Betty Jo Pangburn and husband, Sam of Alva, Oklahoma many nieces, nephews and friends. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of Hardtner or the American Cancer Society through the funeral home. The casket will be open at the funeral home on Friday, January 30, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and at the church before the service. |
