Attica-Funeral service for Clifford “Pete” Cantrell will be Monday, January 18, 2010
at 1:00 P.M. at Kiowa United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Fink officiating.  
Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery at Hazelton with arrangements by Lanman
Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa.  Memories may be shared with the family at www.
lanmanmemorials.com.  Casket will be open at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:
00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. with the family present 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
Pete was born on August 27, 1922, the son of Jonah and Retta Bartholomew
Cantrell at Strickler, Arkansas.  He passed from this life on January 14, 2010 in
Anthony, Kansas.  He was a graduate of Spring Township High School and he and
Hazel Hibbard were married August 12, 1944 at Anthony.  Pete served on the
Corwin and Hazelton School Boards.  He had been an elder of the Presbyterian
Church of Corwin for 25 years and he was a member of the United Methodist
Church.  His life’s work was farming.
Pete is survived by his wife, Hazel Cantrell  of Attica; two children, Howard Cantrell
and wife, Marcia of Kiowa and Harold Cantrell of Attica; one sister, Irene Adams of
Anthony; three grandchildren and their spouses, Matt and Jenny Cantrell, Darcy
and Tim Olsen, Jacee and Micah Tice; seven grandchildren, Grant, Gage, Grace,  
and Garen Cantrell, Regan and Shklar Olsen and Henry Tice.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to South Barber Pre K-6 AR Program or Kiowa United
Methodist Church through the funeral home.
