| Okeene-Celebration of Life Service for Bill Lane Clester, 69, will be Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Faith Center Fellowship in Meno with Pastor Cody Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery east and south of Okeene with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Okeene. Viewing will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The casket will be open before the service at the church. Memories may be shared with the family at www.lanmanmemorials.com. Bill was born on May 9, 1941 in Okeene to Albert and Vinita Blunk Clester and passed from this life on August 30, 2010 in Okeene. He graduated from Okeene High School in 1960. Bill married Elaine Richardson at Homestead in 1961 and to this union two children were born: John and Melinda. Bill was awarded Kiwanis Farmer of the Year and Blaine County Farm Family of the year in 1980. Bill was on the Cimarron Electric Cooperative Board for over 35 years, serving as the current president. He was an avid farmer, did custom haying, built over 40 stock trailers and was a partner in DBH Helicopter Spraying Service. Bill and Elaine owned and operated Silly Willies Restaurant in Okeene for over 9 years. Bill barbequed at many community and charitable events with a “Bill Clester” original cooker. Survivors include his wife, Elaine of Okeene; son, John Clester and wife, Angela of Okeene; daughter, Melinda Westfahl and husband, Ralph of Ringwood; six grandchildren, Audra Davis and husband, Josh, Deidra Clester, Zoe and Trinity Clester, Chad Westfahl, Beau Westfahl; one brother, Bob Clester and wife, Caroleen; uncles, Virgil Laubach and Glen Blunk; aunt, Beatrice Davis; sister-in- law, Freda Richardson and numerous nieces and nephews. Those who have preceded Bill in death include his parents; two infant brothers, Don Edward and Johnny Lee. Memorials may be made Okeene FFA Chapter to build community grill or to the funeral home on behalf of the family. |
