| Odessa, Texas, formerly of Helena - Funeral service for Jayson Von Meister, age 35, will be Monday, May 10, 2010 at 3:30 P.M. at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Enid. Wade Burleson, minister and Lendal Bolin, minister will officiate. Burial will be at Good Hope Cemetery south of Helena with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena. Viewing will be Sunday from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P. M. at the funeral home with the family present and before the service at the church. Jayson was born in Enid, Oklahoma on November 14, 1974 and passed from this life on May 6, 2010 at Scott White Hospital in Temple, Texas. He lived in Helena and attended Helena-Goltry School during his elementary and junior high years. He then graduated as co-valedictorian in 1993 from Chisholm High School. Jayson was active in music and show choir. Jayson attended OSU and graduated with honors with a degree in accounting, marketing and finance. He was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Odessa, Texas. He was active in the praise and worship team. Jayson loved being involved with worthwhile causes. He served in leadership positions with CASA. He also enjoyed assisting the elderly and helping with those with special needs. Jayson’ s love for family, friends, music and horses continued throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thadene and Alexander Meister and maternal grandfather, Don McCollum. He is survived by his parents, Bob and Sharon Meister of Helena; his sister, Janci and her husband, Mike Wayman of Enid and his special niece, Brooke Wayman and maternal grandmother, Ruth McCollum of Helena. Jayson’s career in accounting included various CPA and Oil companies in Oklahoma and Texas and currently was employed with Pyramid Instrumentation and Electric Corporation out of Odessa. There will be a tribute to Jayson on Tuesday, May 11, at the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Odessa, Texas at 7:30 P.M. Also, there will be a memorial service on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from 4:30 P. M. – 6:30 P.M. at the New Life Church in Odessa, Texas. Family and friends are encouraged to attend. Memorials may be given to Emmanuel Baptist Church Mission projects through the funeral home. |
