HARDTNER-Kenneth “Shorty” Wolgamott, 95, passed away on January 8, 2010, at
Alva, Oklahoma.  Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at
the St. John’s Community Church in Hardtner.  Burial will follow in the Hardtner-
Elwood Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa,

Kenneth Blaine Wolgamott was born on September 28, 1914 west of Hardtner in
Barber County, Kansas to Lyman Earnest Wolgamott and Mabel Hardin Wolgamott.  
He attended and graduated from Hardtner High School.  On January 31, 1937, he
and Winona Irene Willig were united in marriage and would have been married 73
years this month.  He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge (IOOF), past
Secretary of the Barber County Fair Board and Barber County Rodeo; he served on
the church board and the cemetery board.  He was a calf roper, horse trainer,
farmer, and woodworker.  

He is survived by his wife, Winona of Hardtner; one son, Gary Dean Wolgamott and
wife, Sandra Jean of Weatherford, Oklahoma; daughter, Judy Irene Wolgamott of
Stillwater, Oklahoma; one sister, Doris Ames of Sedgwick, Kansas ; four
grandchildren, Thad Wolgamott and wife, Marilyn, Debbie Stewart and husband,
Steve, Dotti Forehand and husband, Shannon, Amy Powers and husband, Josh;
thirteen great grandchildren, Kenny, Tyler Ann, Tatum, Natasha, Nicole, Tyler, Bella,
Maddy, Riley, Avery, Emma, Logan and Lakeley; two great great grandchildren,
Cassi and Charity, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be Monday, January 11, 2010, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm with the family
present to receive friends from 6-8 pm.

Memorials may be made to the St. John’s Community Church or the Hardtner
Community Foundation through the funeral home.
