HAZELTON-Graveside service for Alvera June (Poppe) Stout will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hazelton, Kansas.
Alvera was born June 16, 1922 in Stratton,Colorado to Henry Herman and Anna Marie (Leibsach) Poppe and died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at her son's home in Ft. Worth Texas. During her youth, Alvera resided with her parents who farmed in locations of Colorado, Kansas and Missouri. In her late teen-years, Alvera moved to Kansas City where she found employment. It was there that she met her husband, Ralph Stout.
Alvera and Ralph were united in marriage November 7, 1942, in Medicine Lodge. To this union two children were born, daughter Karen and son, Mont. As a family, they always resided in the Hazelton area. Alvera was a talented homemaker. She loved gardening, beautiful flowers, and was very proficient with all kinds of handwork as well.
She was a member of the Methodist Church and at the Hazelton church was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She held a membership in the Order of Eastern Star. Her very favorite past-time was being a passenger in their airplane with pilot Ralph. They enjoyed many plane trips to various locations together.
Survivors include daughter; Karen DeHaven of Hazelton, son; Mont and wife, LaTonne of Ft. Worth, Texas, one sister; Lois Coffin of Humansville, Missouri, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Ralph, her parents, a son-in-law, three brothers and four sisters.
