Doris Jeffries

Aline-Funeral service for Doris will be Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Lanman Chapel in Helena with burial following at Aline Star Cemetery.  Viewing will be Tuesday 1:00 – 6:00 and Wednesday 10:00 - 8:00 with family present 6:00 – 8:00.   

Doris was born on March 28, 1923 in Belva to Lee Rollie Forsythe and Bertha Mae Creech Forsythe and passed from this life on July 15, 2012 in Enid.  After high school graduation Doris attended Enid Business School.   On March 8, 1943 in Enid she married Max Leon Jeffries.  Doris was a lifetime member of the Carmen-Aline area.  She was a member of the Aline Christian Church.  Doris was a member of numerous clubs and organizations in the Carmen-Aline area.

Survivors include her children, Mark and Pat Jeffries, Ruthie and John Haworth, Larry and Marilyn Jeffries, Joyce and Floyd Cook; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Those who preceded Doris in death include her husband, Max in 1999; parents; six brothers and three sisters.

Memorials may be given to Cherokee Manor Activity Fund through the funeral home.

Our thughts are with you. Marsha said she remembers all the times her parents brought them over and the "grown ups" played cards and the kids played. Interesting that two neighbors remember coming over and playing cards, seems like that does not happen nowadays. Anyway they were certainly good times. Our thoughts and Prayers are with you.
