Anna Mae “Ann” Petrik

Medford-Funeral service for Anna Mae “Ann” Petrik will be Thursday June 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Medford with Rev. Linda Grounds and Minister Gordon Jantz officiating.  Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Viewing will be Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. 

Ann was born on January 9, 1930 to Churchill Carter and Elizabeth Anderson Carter in Coffeyville, Kansas and passed from this life on June 17, 2012 in Enid.  She married John J. Petrik on March 31, 1948 in Caldwell, Kansas.  Ann lived in the Medford area 64 years, all of her married life, moving from Deer Creek.  Ann was the tag agent for a number of years and later was a Farmers Union Insurance Agent for health, property and health insurance.  She held her membership in the First United Methodist Church in Medford, holding several offices in the church.  Ann also was a member of the Medford Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron several times, the Rebecca’s in Caldwell, Kansas, and was Grand Ruth in the Oklahoma Grand Chapter of Eastern Star, as well as District Deputy of the Oklahoma Chapter and active on the Rainbow Board earning Grand Cross of Colors.  She was a member of Red Bud Homemakers, Grant County Republicans and Medford Lions Club.

Those left to cherish Ann’s memory include her husband, John of Medford; four children, JoAnne Petrik and husband, Dan McClellan of Austin, Texas, David Petrik and wife, Janis of Medford, Jennie Sue Davis and husband, Terry of Issaquah, Washington and Kay Petrik and husband, Tim Stoltze of Enid; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and twelve step great grandchildren.

Those who preceded Ann in death include her parents; her step father, Charles Trekell; her brother, Charles Marian Carter and her sister, Verna Lou Carter.

Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church of Medford through the funeral home.
