Funeral service for William Henry “Hank” Belcher, 96, of Cherokee will be at 2:00 P. M. on Monday, February 22, 2010 at First United Methodist Church in Cherokee with Rev. Paul Calkin and Rev. Tom Cooksey officiating. Burial will follow at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee. Memories may be shared with the family at www.lanmanmemorials. com. The register book will be available to sign at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Hank was born on March 6, 1913 in the Lambert area south of Cherokee to Bonnie and Hettie Root Belcher and died in Cherokee on Thursday, February 18, 2010. He grew up in the Lambert area and graduated from Lambert High School. Hank married Ruth Walker on April 12, 1936. They farmed in the Lambert community where he lived until the time of his death. Hank’s survivors include his son, Gene Belcher of Cherokee; sisters, Fairy Oakley of Bartlesville, Leora Bennett of California, Mary Anderson of Enid and Glenda Reams of Cherokee; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents and sisters, Lillian Davidson, Wynona Walters and Wenzella Clegg; one brother, Harold Belcher. Memorials may be given to the Cherokee United Methodist Women through the funeral home. |
