KIOWA-Ethel M. Durfee  was born on September 14, 1922 in Alfalfa County, Oklahoma to Daniel and
Mary Daughhetee.  She passed away April 7, 2010 at the age of 87 years, 6 months and 24 days.  She
graduated Hazelton High School in 1940.  On January 20, 1941 she married Kenneth Henderson
Spicer in Newton, Ks.  She married Newt Durfee on January 15, 1972.  Preceded in death by parents;
husband, Kenneth; infant twins, Sherry and Larry; husband, Newt Durfee; and brother, Milton
Daughhetee.

Survived by daughters; Marcia Traylor and husband, Tom of Hazelton, Ks., Sandra Logan and
husband, Gene of Gainesville, Ga., Patricia Stranathan and husband, Bob of Leawood, Ks.,  four
grandchildren; Kimberly Jordan of Huntersville, Nc., Piper Yarnell and husband, Ric of  Lawrenceville,
Ga., Stacey Salaah and husband, Elijah of Overland Park, Ks., and Ike Stranathan of Manila, of the
Philippines; five great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Kiowa
with Pastor Keith Fink officiating.  Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Hazelton, Kansas.
Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa, Kansas.  Condolences may be shared

Visitation will be Friday, April 9, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.   Memorials may be made to the
