Dickie L. Johnson of Jet, Oklahoma passed away at home Saturday, February 13,
2010 after a courageous, ten year battle with cancer.  He was born, the youngest
of six children, on November 4, 1937 at Lindsborg, Kansas to T.N. Johnson and
Elsie Oborg Johnson.  He graduated from Lindsborg High School.  He then
worked on Colorado and Wyoming ranches, until returning to Lindsborg to truck
driving jobs.  He was involved in farming and ranching his whole life, moving to
the Jet - Nash, Oklahoma area in 1984.  His chemotherapy schedule forced his
retirement from Alfalfa County Feeders of Cherokee in 2005.  He belonged to
Nash Christian Church.  His past time was watching rodeos, football and
basketball.  He was an active supporter of daughter, Vickie’s 4-H and FFA lamb
and Hereford shows during her school years.  He married Anita Peterson at
Marquette, Kansas on July 24, 1965.  He set that date to coincide with the
Cheyenne Rodeo.

He is survived by his wife, Anita of Jet; his daughter, Vickie Johnson of St.
Joseph, Missouri; two grandsons, Dayin Scrogum and Jarrett (J.D.)
Kochenderfer , both of St. Joseph, Missouri; two brothers, Lester E. Johnson
and wife, Ione and Clayton N. Johnson, both of  Assaria, Kansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Aletha Adams, Della
Johnson and Wanda Cowart.

Dickie’s funeral service will be Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 1:30 P.M. at
Nash Christian Church with Pastor Dan O’Daniel officiating.  Burial will be
