work, still remember the boys can't believe that they are that old, seems like only a few days ago they

Enid-Gwendolyn June Miller, 53, of Enid, died Thursday, February 11, 2010 at
Highland Park Manor following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.  A
memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Cedar
Ridge Wesleyan Church of Enid with Pastor Ron Olson officiating.  Arrangements
are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee.  Flowers may be sent to Cedar
Ridge Wesleyan Church.  Memories may be shared with the family at www.

Gwendolyn was born in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas on July 24 1956 to Clifton and
Alice Dillon Adkins.  In 1974 she graduated from Enid High School, where she was
an active member of the school choir.  She completed her High School Education
with the Honor of Perfect Attendance.  On July 24, 1976 Gwendolyn June Adkins
married Carol L. Miller at the First Christian Church of Cherokee.  They raised two
sons, SSgt Carol L. Miller, Jr. and Kyle Justin Miller.  Gwendolyn started her child
care career as an in-home licensed child care provider. Her 20 plus year career as
a Master Teacher at her current employer, Children’s Day School, was interrupted
due to her illness.  She also maintained active memberships and certifications with
the following: National Child Development Association, Oklahoma Childcare
Association, National Association for the Education of Young Children, Southern
Early Childhood Association, Early Childhood Association of Oklahoma, Red Cross
CPR, and Red Cross Life Saving, along with other associated memberships and
certifications.  She attended Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church and sang in the choir
until she was interrupted by her illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Alice Adkins.

She is survived by her husband, Carol L. Miller, Sr. of Enid; sons, SSgt, Carol L.
Miller, Jr. USAF, Lackland AFB, Texas. and Kyle J. Miller of Enid; three
grandchildren, Madysen Ann, Teresa Lynn and Brelinda Diane of Enid; two
brothers, David W. Henderson of Edmond and Larry E. Henderson of El Reno; two
sisters, Mary E. Fiala of Dickinson, Texas and Nancy K. Mann of Wichita Falls,
Texas; two sisters-in-law, Juanita L. Henderson of Hennessey and Juanita M. Miller
of Cherokee; eleven nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love of Enid or the American Cancer
Society through the funeral home.
