| Flora Dell Platts, 83, passed away at her home in Cherokee on February 16, 2010. She was born on February 28, 1926 in Sedgwick, Kansas to Byron Platts and Edna Johnson Platts. Flora lived in the Cherokee area for most of her lifetime. She was a homemaker and worked as a nanny. Flora enjoyed the fine arts, learning French and tending to her flowers. She also was attentive to the lives of her grandchildren. Survivors include, her daughter, Becky Gerhard; one sister, Betty Scullion; eight grandchildren, Brianna, Jordan, Cy, Curtis, Brooke, Lexiss, C.J. and Jerelle and other family members, Ernest Palmer, Jerry Witt and Wanda Platts. Those who preceded Flora in death include her parents; sisters, Tallena Palmer, Bynne Witt; brothers, Jamie Platts, Bill Platts and Tommy Platts. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the funeral home on behalf of the family. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee.
