| Cherokee-Graveside service for Ladona Kaye Puffinbarger, 51, will be Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery with Rev. Tom Cooksey officiating. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee. Viewing will be on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home in Cherokee. Memories may be shared with the family at www.lanmanmemorials.com. Ladona was born in Enid on June 2, 1958, the daughter of Tom and Lavone Pearce O’Grady and departed this life at her home in Cherokee on April 3, 2010. She was raised in Enid and graduated from Chisholm High School. Her college career began at Carl Albert in Poteau where she played basketball and continued at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva where she also played basketball. It was from Northwestern that she earned her Bachelor’s degree. On July 30, 1983 Ladona and Edward Lee Puffinbarger were married in Enid and made their home in Cherokee where Ladona was engaged in farming. She also worked for Cherokee Sale Barn. She had recently retired and had plans for many activities. She is survived by her husband, Edward Lee Puffinbarger of Cherokee; her two children, Kyle Puffinbarger and Kelli Puffinbarger also of Cherokee; her mother, Lavone O’Grady of Cherokee, her mother-in-law, Phyllis Puffinbarger of Cherokee; two sisters, Sue Ray and husband, Jack of Norman and Cindy Dancer of Oklahoma City and many others who loved her. She is preceded in death by her father, Tom O’Grady in 1987; an infant brother, Joseph Wayne in 1956 and her father-in-law, Jerry Puffinbarger in 2009. Memorials may be made to Byron Fire Department through the funeral home. |
