Larry Thomas

June 26, 1948 - May 4, 2018

Larry Robert Thomas was born June 26, 1948 to Bob and Helen Thomas and passed from this life at his home in Aline May 4, 2018.  He grew up in Cheyenne Valley where he attended elementary school.  After he graduated from Cleo Springs High School in 1966, he was drafted into the U. S. Army and served during the Vietnam War receiving a Purple Heart.

After serving his country, he returned home and opened his own body shop at his home in Aline.  After several years of repairing and painting cars, he changed his career and started working the oilfield for several companies as a contract pumper under the name "The Oil Patch" which continued until the time of his death.

On May 22, 2006 Larry and Patsy Warrington were married in Las Vegas, Nevada and in October 2006 they started the Outback Toy and Poker Run which has been very successful for eleven years and has helped hundreds of children in Alfalfa, Woods and Major Counties to receive toys and clothing at Christmas which they may not have received otherwise.  Many families have also been helped when they suffered hard times.  Being the generous person he was, Larry's passion for the past eleven years has been helping kids or someone in need.  Larry and Patsy enjoyed riding to many state Harley Davidson Rallies and Poker Toy Runs.  They also rode to the Sturgis Rally one time.

Larry was a member of the Enid Corvette Club for several years.  He was a lifetime member of HOG, which is a Harley-Davidson owners group, a proud member of A.B.A.T.E., a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and a member of the Aline American Legion.  He will be missed greatly by his many friends and riding buddies.

Larry's final ride to Cheyenne Valley Cemetery will be in Bryan Gray's motorcycle hearse.

Those left to cherish Larry's memory are his wife of twelve years, Patsy Thomas of Aline; a brother, Jerry Thomas and wife, Nancy of Skiatook; a sister, Mary Watson and husband, JR; his two children, Sheila Hiebert and husband, Brian of Meno and Leslie Thomas and wife, Kathy of Texas; three grandchildren, Hailey, Kaitlyn and Carson; nieces, nephews and many friends and extended family.

Funeral service for Larry will be Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Aline United Methodist Church.  Burial will be in Cheyenne Valley Cemetery with Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena in charge of arrangements.  Viewing will be Tuesday 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Helena.
