Ivan Koblitz

Funeral service for Ivan Lee Koblitz will be Friday, September 3, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Kiowa United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery.  Viewing will be Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa.  www.lanmanmemorials.com  Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.

Ivan Lee Koblitz was born June 2, 1940, at his home in rural Corwin, Kansas. He was welcomed home by his parents, Alva and Marie Kobiltz and sister, Marilyn. His brother, Bruce joined the family two years later.

Ivan attended the Corwin Presbyterian Church and Corwin Grade School. He graduated from Hazelton High School in 1958. He was in the U. S. Army as a military policeman and served at Fort Hood, Fort Leonard Wood, and spent a year in Korea. He secured his honorable discharge July 31, 1969.

He enjoyed his life on the farm. He started driving the tractor when he was just nine years old. He liked to ride his horses to check cattle and liked to break his own horses. He always said to make fun out of your work. He loved working with his sons. He married LeAnn Cantrell Burchfiel on June 28, 1968, in Anthony, Kansas. He was always so proud of his kids, Bob, Justin, and Andra. They were his greatest joy.

Ivan is survived by his wife, LeAnn; sons, Bob Koblitz (Dena) and Justin Koblitz (Shelly); daughter, Andra Tidwell; sister, Marilyn Alexander; grandchildren, Blake Koblitz, Kelsey Rao (Andy), Morgan Donaldson (Taylor), Paige Pivovar (Blase), Logan Leatherwood, and Skylar Leatherwood; sister-in-law, Sandy Lander; brother-in-law, Dick Cantrell (Shirley) and Marc, Heather, Rhett, and Wes Allen.

Ivan is preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Marie Koblitz; brother, Bruce Koblitz; grandson, Jarrett Koblitz and in-laws, Dutch and Helen Cantrell.

Memorials may be made to Kiowa District Hospital or Kiowa United Methodist Church through the funeral  home.
