Donna Fishback

June 24, 1953 — April 15, 2018

Donna Kay Fishback of Aline passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018.  She was born to Joe and Lee Thomas on June 24, 1953 in Dallas, Texas.  She lived in many wonderful places throughout her life.  She graduated from Pendleton High School in Oregon in 1973.  After high school she worked with geriatric patients and later worked with the elderly in their home.

Donna met Bart Fishback in 1979.  It was a match made in heaven.   They laughed and picked at each other often.  They married November 2, 1980 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  They make their home in Enid.  Donna was an only child and because of that wanted a big family.  They had six children, numerous adopted children, grand babies, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  They later moved to the Fishback family farm in McWillie.  Due to fire they lost their home and relocated to Aline some years later.

Donna accepted Christ in March 1984 and was baptized in December 1991.  Donna had many passions in life: being a Wife, Mother, Nana and friend.  She enjoyed doing crafts, woodworking, gardening, canning, cooking, baking, sewing, jewelry making and just about anything that involved using her hands and creativity.  She loved sharing the fruits of her labor with her family and friends.  She enjoyed volunteering for different things as her children were growing up and later turned that volunteering to her grand babies.  If you had the chance to meet her you knew she was a selfless woman and always put others before herself.  She never met a stranger and if she had her little photo book handy she would show you pictures of her family.  She was always willing to lend a hand or a listening ear.

She is survived by her husband, Bart Fishback; step-mother, Bettie; six children, Rob Fishback and wife, Jennifer, Lloyd Fishback and wife, Christi, Cassandra Srader and fiancé, Michael; Ray Fishback and wife, Amy, Diandra Fishback, Laura Springer and husband, Trent; twenty-four grand babies and four great grand babies.

She is preceded in death by both parents; grandson, John Maddux Fishback and step-dad, Eldon Hagon.
